TimeGlider: Instructions

Introduction to Timelines

When you set up your TimeGlider account, you created your first timeline: This is like a container for events that you will add.

A timeline is a collection of events organized along a horizontal time-scale.  TimeGlider allows you to create and publish dynamic interactive timelines across the web, and allows to collaborate on timeline building with others, too.

Some use cases that our beta testers have come up with include:

- recording images of the same landscape as it changes week by week

- planning a home improvement project with multiple subcontractors

- showing concerts performed by a choir, past and future

- developing a business plan

- a school history project

- creating an archive of interesting blogs

Timelines can be used for almost anything!

TimeGlider also lets you visualize two timelines at the same time on your screen, one above the 'ruler' and one below it. Visualizing two timelines at once can present some interesting and unexpected relationships between events.  The combination of the two on a single screen leads to a richer experience.
